anglesey u9sWell done to Deian Parry, Casey Gregg and Luke Owen from Holyhead Under 9's who represented the Alaw Anglesey squad who competed at Porthmadog on May 15th, the only bad point was the weather!

The boys did really well playing against new teams. We were drawn in Group 2 and our opponents were, Clwyd, Gwyrfai, Rhyl, Colwyn and Llyn. Our first game was a tight affair which we managed to win 1-0. Second up was Colwyn, again we won 1-0. The team full of confidence were up against Llyn in game three and smashed in 7 goals to win 7-1. Next up was Gwyrfai, tackles flying in by both sets of players, it was a close game again with us winning 1-0.

Already through to the semi finals we had Rhyl last, a comfortable 3-0 saw us top the group with 5 wins out of 5 scoring 13 and conceding just 1. Our semi final opponents were Llyn A, midway through the first half we took the lead, chances came and went, the score-line stayed the same until right at the end of the match deep into injury time Llyn equalised. Extra time beckoned, no more goals during extra time meant penalties would decide who went through to the final, unfortunately we lost out 6-5. All the boys were fantastic, Anglesey really has some talented players.
