Rhys Roberts put Holyhead ahead just before the 20 minute mark only for Buckley to draw level a few minutes from half-time as Hotspur seemed to lose concentration.  Dan Sullivan had the Flintshire side in front eight minutes into the second period when Holyhead failed to deal with a long throw but predator Mel McGinness drew his team back to parity with a typical trademark goal only three minutes later.  That was the end of the scoring however, Buckley may feel they should have converted some of the pressure on the home goal after that but perhaps a draw was a fair outcome.

After playing host again to Caernarfon Town on Tuesday evening, Denbigh Town visit Campbell Harrison’s side for their final home league game this Saturday 2.30 kick off.  Leaving only Buckley Town away on Easter Saturday to finish the season.
Carl Jones was out quickly on 2 when Lee Reynolds threaten and it was nip + tuck as both sides tested each other early on.  On 10 a long ball put Buckley’s Glen Donaldson in the clear but Jones showed terrific reaction to read the situation and block the danger.  Holyhead were beginning to push forward but Buckley were quick on the break, however it was Hotspur who went ahead on 19 – Ryan Jones did well on the right to get to the by line and cross into a crowded goalmouth when there was a couple of stabs at goal and only partially cleared to central defender Rhys Roberts up with the attack who swept the ball home like a seasoned striker.  Straight down the other end 3 minutes later a corner by Adam Eden on the left was met by a firm goal bound header by Dave Bryan, but Gareth Jones Evans was perfectly positioned to head clear off the line.  On the ½ hour mark a good Holyhead move – Gareth Jones Evans into Ryan Jones into the box but Julian Williams appeared to be fouled and Holyhead appealed for a penalty.  Both sides had good spells as the game flowed.  On 43 Buckley drew level – a corner on the left by Eden produced a good punch away by Jones but only back to Eden as play seemed to stop but the ref had not blown his whistle and when the ball came across again by Eden deep to the far post Phil Molyneux was first to the ball and drove hard and low into the far corner.  Hotspur’s players had stopped in the confusion but was a case of not playing to the whistle!  Just before the break a deep cross from the right by Ryan Jones landed on top of the net.  Half time 1-1

Buckley keeper Ben Jones was at full stretch following a Dan McGinness long throw but Buckley were pressing with Eden on the left flank to prove troublesome to Hotspur all night and it needed a super defensive header to clear the danger from his searching cross on 50 by Mike Edwards.  Buckley was beginning to look threatening and on 53 took the lead.  Core Smart’s long throws had earlier given Hotspur something to think about and this time it was not dealt with by Carl Jones and his defenders and Dan Sullivan took full advantage to get enough of a connection and nudge the ball over the line.  They did not hold the lead for long only 3 minutes in fact – Ryan Jones on the right did well to get the ball across low into the goalmouth which was only cleared to outside the box and pounced on by inform predator Mel McGinness who in full stride rifled the ball into the bottom corner.  Smart tested Carl Jones from 25 yards who turned it away for a corner on the hour while that man Eden on the left hit a fine cross which Donaldson just headed over.  Hotspur keeper was the busier although Holyhead were pushing up as often as possible.  Holyhead Hotspur Manager put fresh legs on to try and liven things up but on 89 Buckley had a great chance to win the game – Eden again on the left deep cross into the danger area and Phil Molyneux whose header saw Carl Jones make a vital save to keep his side level.
