News from the New Stadium

After the loss at Bro Goronwy on Monday 9th Hotspur reserves did themselves proud with a 0 – 0 draw at home to Pentraeth’s Welsh Allianace Division one side on Friday 13th.

The 4 – 1 loss at Bro was not a true reflection of the game, as Hotspur went ahead through a great goal by Tom Scott after a fine passage of play and this gave them the lead until Bro equalized with a cracking goal. Changes took place predominantly with the Hotspur side at half time to give game time to all the 20 players Mike Kelly had taken there.

It was a different ‘kettle of fish’ when they hosted Pentraeth, though again making changes at half time it was good to see Curt Williams come on as a sub in Hotspur colours. In the absence of striker Robert Llewelyn Jones evergreen Martin mc Clymont one of the assistant managers to Mike Kelly (with Tom Scott and Jon Jones) led the line to good effect. The game was very much dominated by strong defences and there were not many goal scoring opportunities.

I am sure Mike will be pleased with that result and performance and take it forwards when the reserves visit Llanerchymedd this coming Tuesday 24th July 7pm kick off. After that they are away at Glantraeth on Thursday 26th and then Cemaes Bay on Tuesday 31st.

They have a tough match on Saturday 4th August when they visit Llandudno under 19’s with a 12.30 kick off and this will be a real test for Kelly’s young team.
