Hotspur and Bluebirds share spoils

Jack Parr in on goal but Carl Jones out quickly to block on 7th minute, and on 15 Alex Jones got in fine tackle to deny Steve Blenkinsop in a dangerous situation. Caersws had much the better of the first 30 minutes. However, on 37th minute Parr was dispossessed by Kenleigh Owen who took the ball into the penalty area and buried the ball past Chris Brown. At the other end John Owen broke down the left and in to goalmouth but Carl Jones again came out to deny the striker. (Half time 1-0).

On 50th minute Carl Jones had to tip over from Arron Lemon – visitors still held sway but on 64th Dan McGinness’ effort was tipped onto the crossbar and away for a corner. On 69th Phil Williams received a red for a dangerous tackle following a quick break from Caersws, after Blenkinsop broke through (yellow but not a red) seemed harsh.

On 75th minute Gareth Jones Evans fine free kick saw the keeper deflect on to the bar for a let off, then visitors Blenkinsop to Graham Jones who was just over as they pushed hard to draw level. Caersws got the goal they deserved on 80th, Mark Griffiths on the right delivered a deep cross which clattered the far post, which eventually came back to Jolyon Harries who rammed the ball home from just inside the box. Then came the bizarre red card for Mel McGinness – Mel was ready to replace Mike Kelly but before the latter came off Mel was red carded for foul and abusive language at opponents bench, Martin McClymont was able to come on instead 83rd minute. In the final minutes Caersws looking for the winner but Hotspur held out for a point. While Holyhead a man down depended on the counter attack.
